Christian Values in Education Scotland’s School Chaplaincy Project – Can You Catch the Vision?
Engaging with 95% of Scotland’s Young People
Churches spend a great deal of time and effort engaging with children and young people and nationally reach about 5% of Scotland’s 0-15 year olds – a figure that diminishes year on year. In contrast around 95% of young people these ages go through local schools. Where local faith communities can work in with schools to explore faith, values and beliefs, they can be far more effective.
CVE Scotland’s school chaplaincy project has been training, resourcing, supporting and networking those in school chaplaincy roles in Scotland for over two years.
One major challenge CVE faces is identifying who is involved in school chaplaincy and what support is desired. Please do sign up to receive our chaplaincy newsletters or email us to introduce yourself! We would love to help support you in the tremendous work you are doing!
Steve Younger, the project leader, explains some of the motivations behind the project in this short video:-
Again, please do sign up to receive our chaplaincy newsletters or email us and let us know how we can best support you work. Thank you.
