For CVE Scotland to run, we need a great team. Who are they? Well, take a look and see…

Steve McLeister
Vice-Chair
Steve is a Senior Teaching Fellow at Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh. He is involved in the Initial Teacher Education programmes including PGDE and MA courses. He taught geography for fifteen years in secondary schools prior to this appointment. He is part of Central Church, Edinburgh, having been on the eldership team for seven years. He is married to Helen, a primary school teacher, and they have three children.

Iain Macleod
Treasurer
Iain is a Chartered Tax Adviser who was for many years an Inspector of Taxes and latterly served as a director of a tax advisory firm. Having joined CVE Scotland as a Trustee in 2022, he has been most impressed with its vision for schools, pupils and teachers, and the practical steps being taken to find the best classroom materials relevant to that vision. Married with four adult children, Iain is one of the elders at Hope Church, Coatbridge.

Lynn MacMillan
Outreach Administrator
Lynn joined CVE Scotland as Senior Administrator in August 2024, after 20 years as Principal Teacher (Business Studies) in Inverclyde and in accountancy/university school liaison work prior to this. She is married with two grown-up sons and serves in the Kids’ Church team at Harper Church, in Glasgow.
She was excited to join the team, having been a subscriber of the CVE Scotland newsletters and a downloader of resources whilst running a lunch-time faith-based club in her school.
With the new vision and strategy for CVE Scotland, Lynn’s role from 2026 is as Outreach Administrator, seeking to connect with Christian teachers and school staff to encourage and inspire them to confidently live out their faith in school.
She would love to hear from you on any aspect of the work of CVE Scotland at cve@cve-scotland.org.uk.

Sandra Blair
Sandra works for Youth for Christ as their Scotland Lead as well as serving as a Chaplain for one of Glasgow’s secondary schools for the last 8 years.
Sandra says: “I am sure we can all remember a wide variety of educational experiences from our own school days. I am passionate that every pupil, teacher, chaplain, schools worker & parent have the best resources & training to work from in learning about the Christian faith and understanding what living those values out looks like on a day to day basis.”
Sandra considers it a privilege to be involved in the development of CVE Scotland.

Kirsteen Maclean
Kirsteen has been a Primary Head Teacher in the Western Isles for over 23 years. Currently, she leads a large Primary School outside of Stornoway. Over the last thirty-five years Kirsteen has been involved in working with children and young people through her involvement in Church Camps, Scripture Union Groups, Youth Outreach and Sunday School. She is one of a national team of Safeguarding Trainers for the Free Church of Scotland and is thankful to have the opportunity to work with CVE Scotland in supporting Christian professionals working in educational settings.

Elaine Tait
Elaine joined the Management Committee as Trustee in 2024 and is the Additional Support Needs Development Coordinator for SU Scotland, working across SU’s ministries and across Scotland. Prior to this, Elaine taught Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies and Philosophy for 10 years in Scottish secondary schools and has also been a youth worker with a small cancer charity.
Elaine is excited about ensuring that all young people, whatever their needs, can explore the Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus and is delighted to work with CVE Scotland to promote this in schools. “It’s such a privilege to journey with young people who may experience faith differently and working to remove any barriers that make this difficult”.

Nigel Kenny
Nigel Kenny joined CVE Scotland as a Trustee in November 2025. His full-time post is Scotland Officer for the Christian Institute and, until very recently, he was on the Board of the Edinburgh Bible College.
Nigel is a Trustee at Greenview Evangelical Church (south Glasgow). He is married to Anne (a health visitor) with two grown-up children. He has worked with the Christian Institute – a think-tank advancing Christian faith in the public square – for 15 years and has worked on several successful campaigns including opposing the ‘named person’ scheme, TIE promotion, conversion therapy and assisted suicide.
With his LLB background and trustee law knowledge, Nigel brings a valuable set of skills to the work of CVE Scotland and we are thankful to God for his willingness to join the Management Committee.

Shelagh Coulter
Shelagh is our newest member of the CVE Scotland Management Committee. She is a true Glasgow Southsider, having grown up hearing the Hampden Roar. She worships at Cathcart UF Church where she also serves as an elder and treasurer. Prior to teaching, Shelagh had brief spells working in retail, accountancy and insurance. Her teaching career has spanned 33 years until retiring in August 2025. She worked in various secondary schools and in various roles from Business Studies Teacher to DHT, with the majority of time within Inverclyde. Shelagh found working in education to be a challenging but very rewarding career and having now retired, she is enjoying being able to spend time on her tennis (very rusty – her words!) and catching up with people she only managed to see during the holidays.
“I am delighted to be able to serve CVE Scotland and share the experience I have along with my faith and look forward to seeing how best to support teachers as they live out their faith in their careers”.

Megan Patterson
Retired Chair and Volunteer
Megan stepped down as Chair of CVE Scotland in March 2026 after 8 years serving on the Management Committee. We are delighted that she will continue as a volunteer and is already actively involved in establishing a SU Ministry Hub within the Livingston area.
Megan is an Education Consultant for SIM (Serving in Mission). “I love to see Christian teachers all round the world developing a biblical approach to the whole of classroom life and I run seminars to that end. I am delighted to be part of CVE Scotland and to have the possibility of encouraging Scotland’s Christian teachers too.”

Steve Younger
School Chaplaincy Project Leader
Up until November 2025, Steve was CVE Scotland School Chaplaincy Project Leader and has now retired from this role. We are grateful for his many years of service and heart for those who go into schools to share Christ’s love.
Steve remains as minister of High Blantyre Baptist Church. He also continues to lecturer at the Scottish Baptist College based at the University of the West of Scotland; Paisley Campus., where he developed and delivered a Time for Reflection short course subsidised by CVE Scotland from the generosity of our donors and grant providers.
