RSHP Project Update

The RSHP project is progressing well. Research into the key areas of sexuality and gender is underway, and we have been establishing links with relevant organisations, including a positive and informative meeting with Education Officers at Education Scotland at the end of November. They were very receptive to our input, and would welcome ongoing communication regarding the project.

Our next steps will include planning and consultation with initial focus groups of teachers, parents and pupils throughout Scotland in regards to current provision and the direction of the project. This will likely be ongoing as we identify key priorities in the planning and production of new materials. We also need to be mindful of upcoming changes to the guidance for teachers of RSHP, which is undergoing consultation in January 2023 as well as potential changes to the curriculum which may be on the horizon, as highlighted in our meeting with Education Scotland.
