About Us

Christian Values in Education (CVE Scotland) is a Scottish charity that provides resources, advice, networking and training for teachers and school staff.  We support adults in schools to communicate the Christian faith, so that children and young people can make informed choices about beliefs and values.

CVE Scotland believes there is a strong case for the continued place of Christian values in Scotland’s schools. CVE Scotland supports those working in schools, providing them with readily available, excellent quality teaching aids, assembly outlines, practical ideas, advice and recommendations on best practice. We equip teachers and school staff through our website, social media, face-to-face training, networking and prayer events across Scotland.

CVE Scotland is a Scottish charity whose Trustees and volunteers belong to a range of denominational backgrounds and who are all passionate about every pupil in Scotland’s schools having an engaging, inspiring encounter with the Christian faith. We work with a range of Christian and educational organisations. As well as signposting to other organisations’ high-quality materials, we create resources and offer support where needed, responding to an ever-changing education system and culture.

“It is crucial that the Christian community show the relevance of faith within an educational context. We need to share our story with creativity, confidence and grace, showing its impact upon a wide range of educational themes. That is why I am privileged to recommend the work of CVE Scotland. They are playing a significant role in building confidence in our faith in a next generation.” (Dr Fred Drummond, National Director, Evangelical Alliance Scotland)

“For some young people, their only experience of the Christian faith comes via their School’s Chaplaincy Team or Staff! This is why CVE Scotland’s work in equipping, providing networks and resourcing is of vital importance as we encourage young people to explore the Christian faith from an informed position.” (Sandra Blair, British Youth for Christ, Local Ministries
Development Manager Scotland)

“As a Government we recognise the substantial and enduring influence of the Christian faith in transforming and inspiring Scotland’s people and culture. Faith-based education and religious observance have an important part to play in the development of our young people as successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.” (Scottish Government letter to CVE Scotland)
