Great Scots: David Livingstone (Education Scotland)

This series of learning experiences was published as part of the 2014 Homecoming celebrations, under the flag of “Studying Scotland”. It is available on the Education Scotland website.

The well laid out teachers’ notes offer a selection of suggested activities to support learners in exploring the life and beliefs of David Livingstone. The suggested learning experiences (all meticulously linked to Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes) can provide a foundation for further learning in Religious and Moral Education and in other curriculum areas. They also allow learners opportunities for personal reflection about contemporary issues.

A full set of learning activities is suggested, and there are useful links both to online BBC video clips and to various websites for further pupil research.
