Introducing the God Question

This is a series of 6 half hour T.V. Episodes, produced in Scotland, with contributions from world renowned experts from both sides of the God/science debate. Student and teacher guides are also available together with a comprehensive reading list and web links.

This would be most useful for teachers of Higher and Advanced Higher Philosophy and RMPS/RME/RE. It also would have applications for Youth Workers and youth leaders working in a church context.

The 6 episodes cover three main topics and unpack and discuss evidence from the Cosmos, Life and Evolution and the hidden depths of Mind and Consciousness.

The materials consist of structured group/class activities designed to foster skills, Experiences and Outcomes — written specifically for Curriculum for Excellence.

The series is available as DVDs and comes together with student and teacher guides.

Students are encouraged to reach their own conclusions after hearing both sides of the argument presented.

The student guide can be used in as part of a group or for individual study. Each guide has an introduction to the topic in the accompanying programme, a summary, background material, appendices and a glossary of terms.

The teacher’s guide comes with an accompanying USB and is in two parts. Part 1 has an overview of God/science, analysis of main terminology, aims for each episode, discussion suggestions and synopses. Part 2 gives clear connections to different curricular study areas.
