Mary’s Meals

Mary’s Meals (www.marysmeals.org.uk) is a global charity which is based in Scotland. It provides a daily meal in a place of education to children living in poverty around the world. This encourages the children into the classroom where they can gain a basic education which provides an escape route from poverty.

A Mary’s Meal representative writes:

“Since the beginning, our work has been built on a foundation of prayer and we are named after Mary, the mother of Jesus. Thanks to God’s blessing and the little acts of love of our supporters, we have been able to grow from feeding just 200 children in 2002, to the 2.2 million we are feeding today. We are now supported by many people around the world from many different faiths and backgrounds.

During the month of May, we invite churches, schools and families to remember our work in their prayers, asking that God continues to bless and strengthen our mission so that we can reach more children who need our help.

We hope that this will help children to reflect on their place in our global family and on how we can show love to one another.”
