School Closures: ASN resources for families, churches and schools

Most school learning has gone online with the Covid-19 lockdown and isolation measures in place, with teachers assigning work via the internet, checking in and marking through distance learning.

Some pupils and families will find this easier to adapt to than others!

Drummond School, Inverness, is a school for primary and secondary age pupils with additional support needs. On this linked webpage its leadership team and teachers have put together general advice, suggestions and documents to use during the school closures – many techniques of which children with additional support needs will be familiar with using in the school environment (e.g. Coronovirus social story, Let’s Make a Deal explanation, first and then board, sensory resources and iPad app suggestions).

There are also links to resources for outdoor learning and many links to specific subject areas. Well worth a look and a bookmark on your browser if you have a child with additional support needs, and also for those without, not only for this period of social distancing, but in general to use school support materials in the home.
