What is the Salvation Army?

This is a set of 6 lessons aimed at pupils aged 6-11 years old (though probably most suited to for P6-7).
These resources provide a captivating and fun introduction to The Salvation Army through a range of learning activities. They are ideal to use in one-off lessons, or to introduce a longer topic looking at different aspects of The Salvation Army. Each lesson outline is supported by a downloadable PowerPoint, and worksheets &/or activity cards in PDF format. Clear Learning Objectives are provided, which Scottish teachers should be able to correlate with Curriculum for Excellence Experiences and Outcomes.
The lesson topics are:
- The Salvation Army is…
- Why is it called an Army?
- What’s Jesus got to do with it?
- Why is the Bible important?
- Worship? What’s That?
- How do you show God’s love?
While lesson plans include learning objectives/outcomes, there is no specific tie-in to either Curriculum for Excellence or English Key Stages. Simple Progress Review Cards are, however, provided to help with self-assessment and review.
