This is a wonderful new story bible for primary-aged children, from master storyteller Bob Hartman. 70 stories (some not often included in children’s books, such as Isaiah, or the temptations of Jesus) take us from creation to new creation. In accessible and child-friendly language, Hartman shows clearly how the Old Testament points forward to Jesus, the promised king, and how the New Testament fulfils the old. Each story is presented in a double-paged spread, with stunning, dramatic illustrations which support the content. This is a book to treasure, and one that children will not grow out of too soon. It would be a helpful stepping-stone between a first bible storybook and a complete bible, and ideal for family devotions.

Beginning in Fiji and ending in Alaska, they visited churches in 11 lands – meeting God’s people, hearing their stories, and joining them on Sunday. Tim Keesee writes about their travels, the sights they saw, and the services they attended. Tim Challies provides thoughts on worship – what is the same for all of us, what is different, and what really matters. This is a very interesting and encouraging book, for reading through or for dipping into, and would make a great gift.

The writings of JC Ryle, the first Bishop of Liverpool, have found a ready audience for more than 100 years. However, some modern readers may be put off by the size of some of his books!
This anthology of quotations from his published works provides bite-sized chunks to introduce readers to the riches to be found in his work. Arranged alphabetically by subject, each quotation gives much to think about.
Whether you are new to Ryle or already a seasoned reader of his books, this anthology is a treasure! It really would make great reading for those days between Christmas and New Year!
