Deep Impact Seminar: School Chaplaincy – More Than Just Assemblies?

CVE Scotland’s Steve Younger was delighted to have been invited to speak at this year’s Deep Impact conference for Christian youth workers in Aviemore, on the 25th January.

Steve Younger, the CVE Scotland project worker on schools chaplaincy, was joined by Ruth Kelso, to present to the 20 attendees of the seminar ‘School Chaplaincy – More Than Just Assemblies?’

The seminar explored why and how we can improve our engagement with young people, how school chaplaincy can partner with schools in the Curriculum for Excellence and unlock more opportunities in schools. With roughly 95%, or 693,000, 0-15 year olds in education, we considered some of the ways that our churches can effectively play its part in the school community.
