National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland

The next National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland will be held on Tuesday 20th June 2017 in the MacDonald Holyrood Hotel, Edinburgh, next to the Scottish Parliament. Following the success of the “live streaming” of the event in 2016 the organisers are seeking to extend the coverage to make the event a truly national one.  The aim is to have one main centre in each conurbation for Christians and their friends from all traditions.

Whilst the main focus will be on praying for Scotland, there will also be a celebration of the outstanding contribution the followers of Jesus Christ bring to the nation through their social action in a huge variety of ways. The keynote speakers will be Magnus Macfarlane-Barrow, the Founder and CEO of Mary’s Meals, and John Kirkby, the Founder and International Director of Christians Against Poverty. Music will be provided by a section of the London Community Gospel Choir.

The “live stream” will commence at 7am and run until 10am. There will, however, be an opportunity for those who need to leave for work and other engagements to depart at 9am. The broadcast will follow the programme from Edinburgh with transmission of the keynote speakers, musical contributions and a number of prayers.
