Easter Resources 2025
Once again we are pleased to give recommendations for Easter resources to use within school, at home or within a church group setting. This year we have some old favourites for you in the tabs below to browse, plus links to resources new for 2025.
This list will be updated regularly as various organisations launch their new resources over the coming weeks (for example SU Scotland will launch their Explore series at the start of March) so please do check back!

New for 2025 SU Scotland’s Explore Easter
Explore Easter is an exciting new video series designed to help children aged 8–11 dive into the Bible in a fun and engaging way. This series comes with a comprehensive resource pack for teachers, packed with creative, cross-curricular activities. SU Scotland have also developed additional resources for churches looking to adapt and use the materials. SU Scotland’s Colour in Easter
This three-part video series is still available on the SU Scotland website. This cross-curricular resource for P6 and P7 brings the Easter story to life! Alongside the videos is a downloadable resource pack with quizzes and reflection activities formatted for both classroom delivery and home learning. Colour in Easter is simple to use and can be delivered as one session or split into shorter lessons.

New for 2025 Archbishops’ Young Leaders Award – Living Hope
A free collective worship material for Lent Living Hope is available now from AYLA. It is a 6 weeks’ of collective worship material, Living Hope will take pupils on a journey through Lent reflecting on Jesus’ ministry and his message of hope for all people. This flexible resource can be used in the classroom, or in a church setting and you can use and adapt the material as best fits your school context.
It has been designed to run from the 24th February 2025, in the 6 weeks before the school Easter holidays. However, Lent starts on Wednesday 5th March. The resource is flexible and you may wish to do all 6 weeks condensed into 4 weeks, or choose only 4 themes to deliver. Whilst based on the English Curriculum Key Stages 2 and 3, it equates approximately to ages 7-14 in Scotland)

New for 2025 TES Reading Comprehension
This pack has been prepared by a primary teacher and can be purchased at a cost of £3 on the TES website. It has differentiated reading material for teaching the Easter story (based on English curriculum).

New for 2025 Sanctuary First
Sanctuary First is an online worshipping community who are passionate about exploring new ways for people to connect with God, the spirit, and one another as a digital church. They have produced a nine part series of bible study resources (Connect Groups) for churches, groups and schools that are available to use for free by all.

The Easter Code is a resource for churches to prepare and invite primary 7 classes to take part in. This often works well using a space within a church building as there are various stations or activities to set up and run.

URC Children’s and Youth Work – new in 2024, Faith Adventures – Easter Encounters is a resource for an intergenerational service, for Easter prayer stations, or for a children’s group. Linked to the stations of the cross, it provides witness account in the form of a story, poem or drama for each stage of the story by the people (and animals) there. Each stage also provides a prayer, wondering questions and a suggested activity. In addition, there is a section providing an overarching story and activities and some age appropriate ideas for under fives.

Youth For Christ’s Re:quest Easter resources
There are Easter resources produced by the YFC Schools Resources team on the RE:quest website. A series of films explore John’s account of Holy Week with additional lesson and assembly material.
GodVenture website has many ideas and links for Lent and Easter. Episodes 4-6 cover the Crucifixion, Resurrection (Luke 19-24) and Pentecost (Acts 1-7).

Prayer Spaces in Schools Easter Series has nine prayer ideas to help young people reflect on the story of Easter in fresh ways.
Explore the Easter story together using these free Bible Apps: The Bible App for Kids (recommended for approx. 4-8 year olds) and Lectio for Families by 24-7 Prayer (recommended for using with approx. 7-12 year olds). Lectio for Families has a daily thought and prayer, a weekly memory verse, questions for discussion and prayer, points for prayer and reflection.

Steve is CVE Scotland’s school chaplaincy project leader and produces short videos for his schools to use for their Time for Reflection.
