New for 2026 SU Scotland’s The King of Kings Easter Resources 

Animated film, ‘The King of Kings,’ starring Pierce Brosnan and Uma Thurman, saw box office success last year. SU Scotland has partnered with KOVA International and Angel Studios, as the official resource partner for the UK & Ireland. In 2025 they have launched an initial resource pack based on the miracles of Jesus, depicted so vividly in the film. The Miracles of Jesus resources are estimated to have reached over 30,000 children.

This year SU Scotland have developed a suite of Easter resources for schools, churches and families linked to the film. This includes school assembly material, four RME lessons for P5-7 learners, and eight family devotionals.

SU Scotland’s Explore Easter

Explore Easter is an exciting video series designed to help children aged 8–11 dive into the Bible in a fun and engaging way. This series comes with a comprehensive resource pack for teachers, packed with creative, cross-curricular activities. SU Scotland have also developed additional resources for churches looking to adapt and use the materials.

SU Scotland’s Colour in Easter

This three-part video series is still available on the SU Scotland website. This cross-curricular resource for P6 and P7 brings the Easter story to life! Alongside the videos is a downloadable resource pack with quizzes and reflection activities formatted for both classroom delivery and home learning. Colour in Easter is simple to use and can be delivered as one session or split into shorter lessons.

New for 2026  Stewardship 40acts

Lent is traditionally a time for spiritual reflection and realignment, which often focuses on giving things up. 40acts, Stewardship’s generosity challenge for the season, flips that idea on its head to focus instead on giving things away. Over the 40 days from Wednesday 18 February to Thursday 2 April, followers will receive a daily email with a reflection, prayer prompt and challenge designed to bless people in creative ways with their money, time and talents. Sanctuary First

Sanctuary First is an online worshipping community who are passionate about exploring new ways for people to connect with God, the spirit, and one another as a digital church. They have produced a nine part series of bible study resources (Connect Groups) for churches, groups and schools that are available to use for free by all.

The Easter Code is a resource for churches to prepare and invite primary 7 classes to take part in. This often works well using a space within a church building as there are various stations or activities to set up and run.

URC Children’s and Youth Work – new in 2024, Faith Adventures – Easter Encounters is a resource for an intergenerational service, for Easter prayer stations, or for a children’s group. Linked to the stations of the cross, it provides witness account in the form of a story, poem or drama for each stage of the story by the people (and animals) there. Each stage also provides a prayer, wondering questions and a suggested activity. In addition, there is a section providing an overarching story and activities and some age appropriate ideas for under fives.

New for 2026 Church of England – Draw Near: Life Giving Habits for Lent

The Church of England’s theme for Lent 2026 is Draw Near: Life-giving habits for Lent. This year’s resources have at their heart the theme of a ‘rhythm of life’ – habits and patterns which help us grow as disciples of Christ day by day, especially as we prepare to celebrate the great mystery of God’s saving love at Easter. During Lent, reflections are centred around a summary of the Christian Way from Common Worship, which identifies six activities essential to our calling as disciples. Each week a different contributor explores a different aspect of Christian discipleship – worshipping together, praying, exploring the Bible, sharing communion, offering service and sharing the good news with others.

A parallel 40-day challenge for families and children will also be available – exploring the life-giving habit of generosity in partnership with 40acts.

New for 2026 Salvation Army – Hidden to Whole

This year’s theme looks to the unploughed ground within our hearts; the hardened places and hidden fears that resist the transforming love of God. To confront these areas requires courageous discipleship, a willingness to face what is uncomfortable and allow the Spirit to do the deep work of renewal. This six-week series will help search for the hidden things within our hearts that God has already planted and wants to breathe new life into. Allowing his love to heal our hearts, making them whole, so that we may live out this transforming love more effectively in our communities.
