The RSHP Project: CVE Scotland and the Free Church of Scotland in partnership
It’s been a year since the start of the RSHP Project and here’s an update from the project leader, Kirsty Moffat:
“The RSHP Project is ongoing, having been extended through to the end of March 2024. This will allow us to complete the resources, and make adjustments based on feedback from teachers and pupils. In the coming months, we will also focus on promoting the resources as widely as possible. This is likely to involve speaking engagements, virtual events, and direct contact with parents, teachers, schools and councils.
The Scottish Government has recently published their proposed revised guidance for the teaching of RSHP. While some aspects of the new guidance need clarification, it does require that RSHP education is inclusive of pupils from faith backgrounds, and that teachers are sensitive to differing viewpoints.
The RSHP guidance is also open for public consultation until the 23rd of November, 2023. We will be publishing assistance on our website for anyone wishing to respond to the consultation and would encourage you to submit a response.
