Scottish Government’s Transgender Guidance
The Scottish Government’s guidelines for schools on supporting transgender young people was published on August 12th. This is a link to the guidance:
All children should feel safe, respected and included. We couldn’t agree more! But 70 pages on how to ensure that transgender young people feel this way, leaves those who are not, at risk of feeling vulnerable, disrespected and marginalised.
A transgender teacher “who can empathise with young people struggling with gender dysphoria,” expressed serious concern about the guidelines.
